 | Q. I want to implement the LookupPoint solution in my company, what are the next steps? |
Firstly, send us an email or give us a call. LookupPoint deployment is a simple process and we’d be happy to run through the steps with you. Following that we will refer you to one of our partners who specialises in the implementation of the LookupPoint Solution in your geographical area and/or industry vertical.
 | Q. Many of our staff are logged into our Line of Business system(s) all the time anyway, so how could LookupPoint be of any advantage to us? |
Even if an LOB is open chances are your users communicate using their office suite and transferring data between the two can be a time consuming process. This is especially true when the data is contained in multiple systems, or is profiled in a way that differs from that with which the user wishes to access or transmit the information. While tremendous value can be achieved with LookupPoint for staff that access line of business data irregularly, there are significant benefits to the implementation of LookupPoint in varying environments and for various user types.
 | Q. I use a custom ERP system; can LookupPoint help me to connect to data from within the Microsoft Office environment? |
Yes. LookupPoint has an administration centre in which you can customise and tailor catalogues for your ERP system. A catalogue defines how LookupPoint connects to data, and which data to extract. With this dynamic capability LookupPoint will work with any ERP that uses an Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL database.
 | Q. How does LookupPoint determine which data to connect the user to? |
LookupPoint uses catalogues to define how to connect to a particular system, where the information is located, and which data to show to the user. We often rely on our partners to create these catalogues for bespoke solutions. If you need a catalogue for a common system, such as Sun Systems or Dynamics NAV, or if you need a customised solution for a specific system or vertical then please contact us - we will connect you with a partner that is more than capable of meeting your needs.
 | Q. So LookupPoint is convenient, but in the current climate priority lies with ROI and reducing IT spend; how does LookupPoint fit into modern IT demands? |
So you’ve made the investments. Everything functions. But do your staff know how to use those systems? Do they like using them? Do they avoid using them? LookupPoint leverages and maximises your existing investments in IT infrastructure. LookupPoint saves time –think of the aggregate time you and your colleagues spend logging into Line of Business systems on a given day- multiply it for a year- and again for your total number of staff, now think of all the productive things you and your colleagues could have been achieving with that time.
 | Q. I wish to offer my customers a solution that will leverage their existing investments and simultaneously allow me to leverage my skills in their line of business system, LookupPoint looks to be the answer, what should I do next? |
